The Basic Burger Made Better (By the S.A.L.T. Sisters!)

The S.A.L.T. Sisters—The Basic Burger Made Better!

What You’ll Need

  • 1 ½ pound ground beef
  • 1–2 tablespoons finely grated shallots or onions
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Buns
  • Your fave cheese & condiments

Let’s Do It

  1. Spread beef out on a cutting board
  2. Grate shallots over meat letting the juice drain onto the meat
  3. Pour cream over meat and season with sea salt and pepper
  4. Mix thoroughly (careful not to over-mix)
  5. Form into 4–6 ounce patties
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper again
  7. Add butter to a hot sauté pan and put in hamburger patties
  8. Cook for 3–5 minutes a side— do not over-cook
  9. Serve with toasted buns and add your favorite condiments Typical table salt is stripped of all the good stuff, and can even contain toxic chemical residue. But unrefined sea salt is delicious and packed with minerals—it's the best!
